Botshelo Letlape started playing wheelchair basketball while being in school in 2016, where he participated in the local Provincial Club Championships League (PCCL) and U19 Teams during the SA School Championships. He won silver and two gold medals with his NW U 19 team during 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively.

In 2021, on leaving the school, he joined the GBT Mongoose Senior Club and soon developed his personal skills to another, higher level. He was featured annually in various competitions like the PCCL, Jomo Khumalo Shield and Terrence du Bruin Cup. In 2022 and 2023 he was selected into the Mongoose Franchise Team to gain first experiences at the highest competition level.

Botshelo Letlape is a well-disciplined player, eager to work hard and learn from senior players. His good attitude helps him develop his potential further. He says: ‘For me basketball is not just a sport, it’s a lifestyle. Because when you commit to basketball you are either all in or out. You eat, sleep and think basketball, every day, all day long.’
