Biography/Experience

Aviwe was exposed to Junior Basketball during her school days at Tlamelang Special School. She started playing in 2014 and was selected instantly into the U23 at age of 14. She progressed later into the U 25 National ladies team in which she played until 2022. During her tenure she won several All Star awards for her class and MVP awards during tournaments. She also has been part of the NW Stinging Bees since their inception and helped them in their 5 years winning streak. Aviwe further participated in the Commonworld Games with the National Ladies’ 3×3 team in London in 2022.   After leaving school she became a member of the Senior Club GBT Mongoose where she played in the men’s PCCL A-Division team.  Aviwe is also the first lady who got a ministerial basketball bursary (in 2015).
